Jam made from black mulberries.
Although mulberries are slowly gaining in popularity, they are quite rare to see at a grocery store or farmers' market.
Mulberries grow on trees rather than canes or bushes like other berries.
They have a flavor somewhat reminiscent of other berries, but sweeter, somewhat milder, and less tart. They definitely have a flavor all their own.
Mulberry seeds float during the cooking process and most are skimmed off during the pouring process. While this jam is not truly seedless, you will encounter few, if any, seeds.
